TOFU LOVE!

So Tofu to me is usually like yuck! But lately i have fallen in love with Tofu soup. Now this isn't just any tofu soup, this is a South Korean soft Tofu soup (Soondubu Jjigae). And need i tell you, you have to try it. It is way beyond delicious. 😜😜😜😜😜




When you're feeling cold on the outside and need something warm on the inside, this is absolutely the most perfect option!😇 So there are many variations of the tofu soup, but the one i get is the beef infused soup.



The dish is made with freshly curdled soft tofu (which has not been strained and pressed), vegetables, sometimes mushrooms, onions, optional seafood (commonly oysters, mussels, clams, and shrimp), optional meat (commonly beef or pork), and gochujang (chili paste) or gochu garu (chili powder). The dish is assembled and cooked directly in the serving vessel, which is traditionally made of thick, robust porcelain, but can also be ground out of solid stone. A raw egg can be put in the jjigae just before serving, and the dish is delivered while bubbling vigorously. It is typically eaten with a bowl of cooked white rice and several banchan(side dishes).

But in Gwap terms, the food is amazing! The broth is just the right amount of spicy and if you want it spicier they can do it for you! The tofu is soft and melts right into your mouth. when you mix it with rice and add the beef to it, omg! it's out of this world. I LIVE FOR THIS SOUP!! Some of the side dishes could include different types of




kimchi (salted and fermented veggies),











namul (fried veggies),











Gyeran-jjim (steamed egg)




















and/or Myeolchi-bokkeum (stirfried dried anchovy).
