WHO IS DYLAN?

Dylan O'Brien was born in New York City, to Lisa Rhodes, a former actress who also ran an acting school, and Patrick B. O'Brien, a camera operator. His father is of Irish descent and his mother is of English, Spanish, and Italian ancestry. Dylan grew up in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey, before moving with his family to Hermosa Beach, California when he was 12 years old. Before getting bit by the acting bug, Dylan planned to attend film school and become a cinematographer, just like his father. But once he landed the role of Scott's (Tyler Posey) goofy sidekick Stiles on Teen Wolf (2011), he decided to put off school (he was initially under consideration for the role of Scott, but he was more interested in playing Stiles).

Shortly after the premiere of The «Teen Wolf», Dylan was offered the role of Jimmy in the «High Road». During the shooting, the novice actor uses his experience as a commentator, because all the dialogues in the picture were a complete improvisation, which the guy coped well. In 2012, Dylan got the lead in the comedy «The First Time». On the set, the guy met Britt Robertson and Victoria Justice. After finishing work on the film, the young actor was invited to another comedy «The Internship», where he played with the masters of this genre Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. {Dylan O'Brien and Tyler Posey as Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinsky} In 2014, Dylan got a role that made him known throughout America and beyond. In the filming of James Dashner's book «The Maze Runner», Dylan O'Brien performed the role of Thomas - a guy who once wakes up in an unfamiliar place, the only way you can get out of here is by finding a way out of a dangerous maze, infested with deadly monsters.

The box office of the film was so impressive, so in 2015 was released the second part «Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials». Together with Dylan, Thomas Sangster, Will Poulter, Patricia Clarkson and Aidan Gillen took part in the movie. After shooting, Dylan said that he began to see colorful dreams which he finds himself in the Matrix.The actor did not take long breaks in work. In 2015, he began shooting in the thriller «Deepwater horizon». On the set, Dylan had to make every effort to match the high class of colleagues-stars of American cinema, including Mark Wahlberg, Keith Hudson, John Malkovich and Kurt Russell. In 2017, he starred opposite Michael Keaton in the CBS Films and Lionsgate Films adaptation of American Assassin, an action-thriller in which O'Brien played the titular character Mitch Rapp. After sufficient time for his recovery following his on-set accident and rescheduling of filming, 20th Century Fox settled on a March 2017 start date for principal photography for The Death Cure. The film premiered on January 26, 2018.

HE DID WHAT?

In his short career, Dylan O’Brien has already received several laurels. During 2013-14, Dylan shared a ‘Best Ensemble’ award and won a ‘Choice TV Villain’ award for his exceptional work in the television series ‘Teen Wolf’. He was felicitated with the ‘Breakthrough Actor’ award at the ‘Young Hollywood Awards’ ceremony, held in 2014. He was also nominated for a ‘Best New Film Actor’ award at the ‘NewNowNext Awards’ ceremony held the same year.

Dylan O’Brien bagged three awards at the 2015 ‘MTV Movie Awards’. The categories he was nominated for were ‘Best Hero’, ‘Best Fight’ and ‘Best Breakthrough performance’.

Dylan O’Brien took everybody by surprise at the ‘Teen Choice Awards’ ceremony held in 2016. He was given four awards for his exceptional performances in ‘Teen Wolf’, ‘Maze Runner: Scorch Trials’ and ‘Deepwater Horizon’.

When there are spare-time in his tight work schedule, Dylan spends it meeting with old friends from the music band Slow Kids At Play, where he used to play drums. In addition, he likes to play in the X-box and review the favorite TV series of «Friends».

Dylan O’Brien was in the news for being in a relationship with well-known actress Britt Robertson. He met her while shooting for ‘The First Time’, a movie in which both of them worked together. Soon, they started dating each other and it is believed that they are still together.
