Summer really isn't here, but I find myself writing again. Not to the say that the only time I write is in the summer, but things are just better when it's nice outside. So, here I am with my take-out from Cars and my laptop sitting outside of my college dorm as I stare at the beautiful sky and try to pretend I am not a little cold.
I'll try to be a little more serious and focus on the main reason for the post. I want to give you guys life advice on choosing what to do with your time during your summer break. I know, I know, summer is almost here. I can already see the sun tans and sand bikinis. And most of us college kids are out the door and looking to have a wonderful and lit summer. I don't know why I am still here in school, but thats besides the point. However, as much fun as some people are going to have, some others find it hard coming up with a plan for summer. Some people are either working, interning or just cooped up in the house with no plans. Do you need something to do that can make you have a productive summer? WELL, DON'T WORRY. I have got you covered. Whether you fall in those categories or not, I have got 5 tips for you to enjoy your summer. So sit back, relax and lets go over some summer plans.
1. HIT THE GYM. Yes I know it sounds

cliche, but actually do it. Sign up for a Gym membership and try something new. I'm not saying to push for that over-dramatized summer body, because in reality so many off us can't give up the goodies and fast food, so forget the bench pressing and 1 hour treadmills and do something else fun. Try some trendy sport like Racquetball. Today I played racquetball with a good friend of mine for almost two hours. It really is fun. It is like playing tennis against a wall! Serena Williams had nothing on me. And guess what? After that, we went out for Ice-cream! Don't be too concerned about dieting and trying to have chocolate abs. Do some sports and eat junk food. Your happiness is all that matters.

2. Start a Blog. If you love to write or simply can write, start a blog! It doesn't have to be professional or perfect, it just has to be you. Find out what your interests are and write about it. Write really how you feel about things and let it all out. This is a good way to express yourself and discover who you are deep inside.Whether you're happy or sad or angry, just write it on your blog and don't keep it in. I started a blog a year ago and I absolutely love the effect it has had on my life. I don't update it often and thats okay, because I only write when I feel inspired. It helps me let out a lot and connect with other bloggers. The website I use is (wordpress.com). I will put the link to my blog down below so you guys can get a feel of what I'm trying to advise here.

3. Rediscover yourself. Remember when you were a child and almost everything made you laugh. You smiled and giggled at childish things and those were the moments you didn't have to worry about finals, datings, stress, friendships or money. You had genuine interest in little things and you couldn't be bothered with anyone else. Try to go back to those moments and find out what really made you smile or laugh. Try to rediscover those things and try them again. I used to love playing Dress-up games and I would spend hours on the computer just designing away. lately I was feeling overwhelmed with classes and scheduling and I decided to play dress up games again. It was the greatest rediscovery of a life time. I do it on the regular now, and I know it might seem childish because I am in college but I don't care. All that matters is it makes me happy. So find out what you love. Whether you loved to play video games or bake or watch anime or even play board games, start it up again and you will be totally surprised on how you find yourself smiling and happy.

4. Runaway. So I don't mean literally leave your parents and not tell them when you are going so they can worry and call the police, but I mean take a leap of faith and just go far away. For people who love road trips, this tip is perfect for you. And for those who don't or haven't gotten around to doing it, take a chance and just travel. Get away from where you are and just runaway. Go some else. Find peace somewhere you have never been. Take the challenge and leave this moment. Whether you go to the beach late at night or take a trip out of state or just go to a bowling alley and bowl till your tired of getting fouls, just be free. Go and do things you usually don't do and let loose a little bit. Meet new people and find common interest. I personally hang out with my close friends all the time, but last weekend I went off to a restaurant late at night with some people I just met and we had a fantastic night. I was gone for almost 8 hours and I had fun meeting those new guys and I was happy. But note, if you go, High Schoolers make sure to let Mom and Dad know. College Kids: You're fine.

5. Binge watch. Binge watching is life. Find a show that has some good ratings, get yourself some ice-cream (if you haven't already notice, I love ice-cream) some cookies, take-out food, get your blanket, the remote and watch away. It is simple and it is fun. It helps you imagine how it would be to live different lives through wonderful actors. Find your genre and get some good shows to binge watch. Netflix and chill with yourself. Relax, sink into the couch and smile. watch all seasons of "That 70's show" again, or "Blacklist," maybe "Flash" or try "Chewing Gum." Just try something new and you might love it, you never know. I started Sherlock Homes a couple of days ago and can I say I am in love. Where has it been all my life? And can we talk about how charming Benedict Cumberbatch is? Nope, never mind, that will be saved personally for a different post.

So it might be things that you have heard before and seen other people do, but just try it. It doesn't hurt to try. Do something new. Be brave and don't mope around because you don't have any summer plans or any body to spend summer with. The good things about these tips are that they can be done alone or with friends. Do these things for yourself and start the new school year feeling alive and productive. It has worked for me and I am loving the way my life is becoming. Plus, I would never give you a wrong tip. I am a GWAP after all.
Until next time,
Girl with a pen.
